Since our founding in 1993, CommunityHealth has worked to improve the health and quality of life for the uninsured in Chicago and surrounding areas. We do this by providing free, compassionate health care, and by serving as a voice for the 1.8 million Illinois residents who have no health coverage.

Through a variety of collaborations with local, regional and national groups, CommunityHealth works to heighten awareness of the increasing number and needs of the uninsured. We also stress the urgency of finding a long-term solution that will ensure that everyone has access to quality, affordable health care.

We encourage you to join with us in our efforts to influence public policy by getting involved: contact your legislators, attend public hearings, write letters to the editor, and help spread the word about this national crisis. It is through these individual and collective efforts that we can make a real and lasting difference in the lives of those CommunityHealth is here to serve.
