MedAccess Chicago Pharmacy

This licensed pharmacy, housed at our West Town health center, provides free prescription medications for the uninsured. The only pharmacy of its kind in the region, MedAccess Chicago Pharmacy is designed to ensure that prescription medications are within reach of those who desperately need but cannot afford them. Most medications are provided by five pharmaceutical partners (that have formal relationships with CommunityHealth): Abbott, Alcon, AstraZeneca, Merck, and Novartis.

Under the direction of our Co-Directors of Pharmacy Operations, MedAccess Chicago is open 60 hours per week thanks to the support of a team of staff and volunteer pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. In 2015, MedAccess Chicago filled a total of 33,426 prescriptions valued at more than $13 million dollars.

The pharmacy provides medications to CommunityHealth patients – as well as qualifying patients from formal community partners across Chicago. (Please note, you must be an established patient at CommunityHealth or one of our partners to benefit from MedAccess Chicago.)
