Over the years, CommunityHealth has become an important medical-training center, and our affiliations with area medical schools and residency programs are integral to our operations and ability to provide free, quality health care.
Each year, CommunityHealth gives hundreds of residents and medical students hands-on clinical experience, as well as exposure to the complex health needs and challenges of the uninsured.
Our formal residency/training programs are affiliated with:
- Northwestern Memorial Hospital
- Saint Joseph Hospital
- Rush University Medical Center
- University of Chicago Medical Center
Our Student-Run Clinics are designed to facilitate service-based learning for medical students interested in primary care. Students staff and organize the clinics, under the direct supervision of attending physicians. Medical students are responsible for recruiting fellow student-volunteers, the attending physicians and interpreters. Additionally, the students are expected to raise a portion of the funds needed to run their respective clinic sessions.
The Student-Run Clinics are associated with major medical schools throughout Chicagoland, including:
- Loyola University’s Stritch School of Medicine
- Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine
- Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine
- Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago
- Rush University Medical School
- UIC Student-Run Free Clinic
