VolunteersCurrent VolunteersScheduling We want to hear from you! Clinic (non-medical provider) Volunteer Satisfaction Survey Volunteer Medical Provider Satisfaction Survey Volunteer OpportunitiesAs a volunteer-based organization, the recruitment, training and retention of volunteers are essential to our ability to provide free, quality health care. We currently have 694 volunteers, including more than 250 physicians, who donate more than 38,000 hours of time a year and perform 95% of our services. Please find complete details on volunteer opportunities at CommunityHealth below. Please note that we are NOT currently recruiting triage or lab volunteers. Volunteer Opportunities for Medical Professionals We also offer a variety of behind-the-scenes volunteer opportunities on board committees. These important positions allow volunteers to donate their professional skills and personal expertise to further the CommunityHealth mission. Volunteer Trainings Beginning in September 2009, CommunityHealth will institute a fee for the following volunteer trainings: triage, lab, pharmacy technician and diabetes educator. (Currently the interpreter training program is being reformatted; participants will not be charged until further notice.) This is a one-time $25 fee per training program. The purpose of this fee is to offset training program expenses--including training materials and administrative costs. Volunteers must pay fees prior to enrolling in a training program. You must have completed volunteer orientation before you can enroll in training courses. *Payments can be made by check (made out to CommunityHealth) or by credit card. Volunteer ApplicationsInterested in becoming a clinic volunteer (lab, triage, front desk, spanish/polish interpreter, pharmacy technician, referral assistant) or volunteer medical professional? Volunteer RecognitionThere is no question that our 650+ volunteers are the lifeblood of CommunityHealth. As a way of recognizing these extraordinary individuals, a "Volunteer of the Month" program was initiated in early 2007. CommunityHealth selects a clinic volunteer and volunteer provider to "salute" each month. We want to say thank you to all of our volunteers, but want to say an extra special thanks to those listed below for going above and beyond. In February, we are pleased to recognize Michael Graca as the Clinic Volunteer of the Month. Michael has been volunteering as a polish interpreter and health education assistant since March 2008. We are also pleased to recognize LJ Witowski, DDS, as the Volunteer Provider of the Month. Dr. Witowski is one of the health center's first dental volunteers (the program launched in December 2009). Congratulations! |
